Online dating. Writing A Great Intro Email

So,you have a prospect, a potential date. Someone has shown  a desire for you because of your great  profile. Now for that all-important step-your introductory email.You’re reaching out. You’ve found someone special that you’re interested in and want to shine of course. You have to write something special.

Whether you’re responding to an email or are sending the first one,this is your chance to create a great first impression.And remember,you only have one chance to make that first impression.Don’t stress out,inside you have the ability to write that awesome first email, even though you aren’t the greatest writer on the planet.

First, spend some time.People don’t generally expect a response from a stranger straight away.If you’re responding,you have at least a few days to consider what you will write. If you’re responding to someone whose profile you’ve seen, you have even more time. But you shouldn’t wait too long, especially if writing to a new member. Other people can see that persons profile too and they may get that person’s interest before you.

You should approach it as if it were a business letter or something similar, in some ways but not others.One thing is for sure you need to send something thats well polished. You won’t want to appear to be a fool no doubt and you should definately put your best foot forward. Everyone is interested in your occupation. If for example you are in the armed forces, be specific. Although Army Dating is becoming popular within the armed forces now, increasingly more civilians are looking spefically for an Army Date let’s say, or just Armed forces dating in general. If that is how they searched for you, then be as specific as possible as the chances are that they’ll have a keen interest in your job and that may be a good way to make new friends as they say.

You obviously have to show some interest in that person.You also need to reveal some things about yourself.Just remember to be interesting and definately not boring.

That’s probably best done by being slightly different,so you stay ahead of the crowd, but try not to be weird! Unless of course you are searching for someone like that. Most people fall into a certain category,but are searching for somebody a bit different to those that they’ve met so far.That’s of course why they’re still looking for someone.

You should show interest,but without sounding like you are  desperate.Just as if you were trying to get a job,you must show how much you want the job, but also what you have to offer.The first contact with a potential date is similar.The obvious difference is of course it should be less formal.

Don’t just bang something out as quickly as you can.Spend some time and if neccessary write and re-write over and over until you are sure that that is your best piece of work.

Like anything,if you set your mind on something,and take the time to get it done properly,there’s no reason why you shouldn’t pick the fruits of your labours.
